台灣的抽象畫發展甚早,早在 1932 年第六回台灣美術展覽會(1932),西洋畫部已經出現了一件,那是本地藝術家黃集榮的作品;莊世和在戰前就投入抽象繪畫的創作,為推廣前衛藝術的理念,他同時努力於筆耕,戰後「國語」更替,他還請了母語為中文的朋友幫忙訂正修改再發表。有著如此先驅地位,他日後或許會被尊稱為台灣抽象畫之父,但事實上,莊世和的地位、聲望、影響力都與其投入遠遠不成比例。
國教署表示,107至109三個學年度的專職族語老師名額由112名成長至184名,進用學校也不再侷限於偏鄉型學校,逐年擴大至都會型學校,顯示各地方政府也愈來愈重視原住民族教育。教育部將繼續與各地方政府合作並提供學校協助,以確保原住民族語傳承,並保障學生學習權益。
